This is likely a terrible idea
So I've mentioned in the past that I have a problem with building megaprojects and restarting projects over and over.
Here's a good example of what I mean. I made a thing to demonstrate:
This isn't new. I made this in December 2020. I completely forgot about my progress on it until this afternoon. Now I suppose some of this forgetfulness could be due to quarantine brain and it feels like it happened 100 years ago and I made it in a 24 hour jam so my brain was a little fried afterwards. But c'mon, Brent. It's like the same aliens and space marine guy! No connection made. I guess I wanted to make it again with a "fancier" game toolkit from the asset store (the tool the demo above is made with really just has less fancy looking demos), except now I'm been stuck on random bugs for over a week. I did a ton of work figuring out bugs in that 24 hour jam (and some more afterwards). Still, I started from scratch with entirely new tools (only the 3d models are the same essentially) to learn.
I'm currently importing this old project to see where I was at when I stopped in December. I need to revise a lot of the UI and some controls, but I should really just carry on with this existing thing. Or maybe that a terrible idea and I'm doing the wrong thing again. I have zero idea.
